Moles or Nevi, are frequently removed for cosmetic or medical reasons. they can be removed either by excision (cutting) followed by stitches, no stitches or cauterization. The Dermatologist decides whether to use stitches or not based on the size, depth and location of the mole as well as the cosmetic outcome desired.

After the mole/moles have been removed the area will be treated with Polysorin and covered by a bandaid. Over the next 24 hours keep the bandaid on and the area dry. After the first 24 hours the area can be washed and Polysporin should be applied two times daily and repeated until the wound has healed.
